Helen Jiang
Chinese-American pianist Helen Chang Jiang is a versatile performer and dedicated educator based in New York City. She is passionate about repertoire ranging from the Baroque to the present day. Helen began performing publicly at the age of four and moved to the United States at sixteen to further her musical education. Helen has performed extensively in the United States and abroad. Rooted in classical piano, Helen is dedicated to exploring different genres of keyboard music and is an enthusiastic collaborator, with experience in both musical theater and traditional classical settings, including the NYU Broadway Orchestra, the University of Illinois Symphony Orchestra, and various baroque ensembles.
A committed educator, Helen has served as Adjunct Faculty in Piano Studies at New York University, where she taught individual lessons and keyboard skills classes. She has also taught at the Champaign School of Music and the Illinois Summer Youth Music (ISYM) program.
Helen earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with highest honors. She completed her Master of Music in Piano Performance and an Advanced Certificate in Piano Pedagogy at NYU Steinhardt, under the tutelage of Georgian pianist Eteri Andjaparidze.
