Ruoling Zeng

Ruoling Zeng is an award-winning Chinese pianist based in New York City.

She is a first prize winner of the Shanghai International Young Pianist Competition (2020) and Chinese Piano Works Competition, and a laureate of the Wuhan Conservatory Piano Competition and the Wuhan Yangtze River Piano Competition. Ruoling has performed solo recitals in cities including New York, Beijing, Wuhan, and Houston. She has extensive experience in chamber music settings and was the winner of the Spring 2024 Lillian Fuchs Chamber Music Competition.

Born into a musical family, Ruoling began piano studies at the age of six and was admitted to the Middle School of the Wuhan Conservatory of Music at the age of twelve. She completed a Bachelor’s degree at the Manhattan School of Music with Inesa Sinkevych. She recently received her Master’s degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from NYU Steinhardt, where she studied in the studio of Eduardus Halim. Ruoling also served as Adjunct Piano Faculty, teaching private piano lessons and Group Keyboard Skills classes.

With extensive teaching experience working with students of all ages and levels, Ruoling is passionate about helping each student develop a meaningful connection with music. She believes that music is a powerful language through which emotions and ideas can be expressed in ways that words cannot always convey.
